During his 12th meeting, Mr. Mohammed Fahad Al-Harthi, President of the Saudi Media Forum and Award, briefed the Council on the preparations for the Forum and Award.


The Chairman of the Council, Mr. Khalid Al-Malek, and the members of the Council, were briefed about the practical steps that have been achieved in this regard, noting that the committees responsible for the forum and the award are working in parallel, and the award has an independent council, which includes a number of Arab and Saudi media experts.
The president of the Saudi Media Forum and Award explained that this major media event, the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia, will be attended by more than 1000 leaders, as well as media from countries all over the world to discuss the media industry in its various forms, and the accompanying shifts and turns, in line with the Kingdom's social and political transformations.
He added that the forum is an opportunity to learn about the global experiences in the media industry, and monitor the unlimited opportunities created by new media ,providing a good opportunity to learn about the means of soft power and how to invest in it, as well as paving the way for cooperation between  local and international media to build a network of relationships that promote openness to the world. Stating as well, that the Saudi Media Award, will be a great opportunity that promotes competition and innovation.
Al-Harthi said that in addition to specific sessions and workshops, the forum will witness the signing of agreements to launch initiatives, media projects, exhibitions and visit programs, that serve the media industry
He added that the forum will have speakers from leaders and professionals from the largest media institutions in the world, as well as university specialists from advanced research centers in the Kingdom and the world, all happening over two days, the 2nd and 3rd of December 2019.
